Forest City’s girls’ basketball team was overrun at Scranton High School on Wednesday night as Blue Devil senior Kim Kaville led Old Forge to a 44-38 win over the Foresters for the school's third straight title.

Forest City (14-9) advanced to play in the play-in game against the third-place team from District 1 last night. Results were not available at press time. Old Forge (16-6) advances to the PIAA tournament to play the third-place team from District 4 on Saturday, Mar. 13.
Leading 9-8 after the first quarter, Kaville got herself involved by driving to the basket.
She converted five of her eight shots in the quarter all from close range or on layups as the Blue Devils built a 23-17 lead.
In the third, Old Forge built a 31-23 advantage as Aleca Semenza contributed a 3-pointer.
But Forest City's undoing came on the offensive end where it made only nine of 27 shots to that point and had 12 turnovers.
"I wouldn't want to look at our percent shooting, but our kids played hard," Forest City coach Carl Urbas said. "Old Forge is a good team. They beat us by 13 last time.
"It was a couple of plays here or there, and we missed a couple of layups early and that set the tone for a while."
Old Forge increased its lead as Nicole Marianelli had two layups, and Kaville and Chrissy Belko made baskets to make it 39-27.
Forest City made a final run at the Blue Devils as Cassie Erdmann scored six of her 15 points and Amanda Collins scored five and Katie Yale four.
In the end, Semenza made four important free throws to ice the gold medals.
