Elk Lake’s Adam Phillips brought home a second place medal and qualified for a trip to states in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM.

In the team standings, Elk Lake’s boys ended up in eighth, and the girls took ninth.
In the girls’ competition, Elk Lake’s 200 freestyle relay team capped off a fourth place finish to top for the Warriors.
Phillips took a second place medal in the 100 breaststroke finishing in 1:03.32 a little more than a second behind champion Sean Kennedy of Abington Heights.
He then finished the 200 IM in 2:05.95 behind Holy Redeemer’s Connor Boyle in 2:03.14.
Phillips qualifies for the PIAA Class AA swimming championships starting on Thursday, Mar. 18, at Bucknell University.
On the girls’ side, Elk Lake’s 200 freestyle relay team of Shannon Agredo, Emmie Gibson, Rina Nikolaidis and Abby Zdancewicz finished in fourth place with a time of 1:49.03.
Warrior Zdancewicz took sixth place in the 500 freestyle for Elk Lake finishing in a time of 5:50.48.
Also competing for the Elk Lake boys at Districts were John Krieg (50 free and 100 fly), Cody Mowry (50 and 100 free), Brad Grosvenor (100 fly), Hermelo Ramos (100 free) and Juan Lopez (100 free).
Also competing for the Elk Lake girls were Anna Hamernick, Meghan Honeyford, Rachel Grosvenor, Chelsea Karabin (200 medley relay), Agredo, Gibson, Nikolaidi, Zdancewicz (400 free relay), Zdancewicz (200 free), Honeyford (200 IM), Destiny Snyder (100 breast and 200 IM), Gibson (50 and 100 free), Nikolaidis (50 and 100 free), Agredo (50 and 100 free), Karabin (100 free) and Hannah Cave (500 free).
