Oakland borough elected a new mayor in last week’s election.
Republican Randy Glover defeated Democratic incumbent Wendy Durkin with a 14 vote margin, 59-45.
Write-in votes determined the mayor’s race outcome in some boroughs.
In Hallstead, incumbent Willie Canfield, who did not appear on the ballot, accumulated enough votes to earn a second term.
Friendsville electors chose Ben Yoder for mayor with six votes. Little Meadows voters chose William “Bill” Gow Sr.
In Thompson Borough, James Delaney collected 17 votes to be re-elected to the post. Write-in candidate Eric Soden received nearly as many votes as Delaney. Delaney had previously expressed a desire to step down from the position.
Forest City will see a former borough council member Patrick Coles take over the mayor slot for the next four years. Incumbent Mayor Nick Cost was elected to serve on the borough council.
Re-elected mayors include: James Riecke, Great Bend, 113; Paul Henry, Hop Bottom, 71; Christopher Mabe, Lanesboro, 71; John Wilson, Montrose, 189; Joe Taylor, New Milford, 109; Denise Reddon, Susquehanna, 179; and Keith L. Foster, Union Dale, 50.
