A 14-year-old former Elk Lake student remains in serious condition at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, following a late Saturday afternoon accident near Meshoppen involving a pickup truck and a bicycle.

Meshoppen Borough Police Chief John Krieg, said Michael Zajaczkowski of Keiserville Road, was traveling west on the northern berm of U.S. Rt. 6, near its intersection with Allen Street.
At around 4:55 p.m., Kenneth Kramer Jr., 57, of Allen Street, Meshoppen, also was traveling west when his 1988 Ford Ranger left Rt. 6 and struck the bicycle and the teen.
The teen was airlifted to Danville.
Meshoppen borough police was assisted at the scene by the state police, Tunkhannock borough police, Meshoppen Fire and Ambulance.
Chief Krieg said that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
