The resignation of Children and Youth casework supervisor Ray Osborn was accepted, with regret, by the Susquehanna County Commissioners at the Oct. 14 meeting.

Osborn thanked the commissioners for the opportunity to work in a job he referred to as “stressful.”
He said he now plans to teach more college courses, something he has previously done on a limited basis.
Osborn’s resignation led the agenda’s revolving door of county employment.
One 911 dispatcher was terminated, effective Oct. 6, and Susan Wilson, of Montrose, was hired as a full-tie dispatcher.
Karen Vanetten, of Montrose, was hired to the open clerk/typist position in Children and Youth, effective Oct. 28.
Also in Children and Youth, Michelle Graziano, of Kingsley, was promoted, effective Nov. 1, to the open casework supervisor position in the department.
The commissioners proclaimed October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Susquehanna County.
Courthouse chimney repair and replacement work was awarded to Hudak Waterproofing Company, Taylor, for $6,500.
The commissioners also signed the Lackawanna/Susquehanna Commission on Drug and Alcohol fee for service based provider contract with Wilkes-Barre Behavioral Hospital Company, LLC, which operates under the name of Choices Program of Wyoming Valley.
The commissioners also convened a board of elections meeting on Oct. 14.
They approved Forest City Borough Council’s request to have a polling place moved from the Forest City Fire Department to the Forest City Area Emergency Services Building, 380 Railroad St.
Voters will cast ballots at the new location on Nov. 3.
