The athletic director of Mountain View High School has been charged with driving under the influence for an incident that occurred on May 3.
Anthony J. Borgia III, 25, of Factoryville, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. that day after state police observed his 2005 Chevrolet Blazer weaving along U.S. Route 11 in Clinton and Nicholson townships, Wyoming County.
According to a criminal complaint, Borgia then entered the Pump ‘n Pantry parking lot in Nicholson borough where he was approached by Trooper Michael Maguire.
Maguire noted in the complaint that he detected a strong odor of alcohol and a breathalizer test was administered that indicated a .216 percent alcohol level.
Borgia was then arrested and taken to Tyler Hospital where blood was drawn and lab results revealed a .235 percent blood alcohol content.
Borgia was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Russell Shurtleff on June 5, and also faces charges of careless driving.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 21.
