The trial of a former Blue Ridge High School soccer coach charged in October with having sex with one of his players has been rescheduled.
Gerald Koch, 49, formerly of Brackney, was supposed to go to trial in federal court Dec. 7 for persuading a minor to cross state lines to have sex with him.
He also faces charges of transporting that minor and tampering with a witness.
The relationship was discovered after the 16-year-old's father found sexually explicit text messages from Koch on her cell phone.
Although Koch was the girls’ soccer coach at Blue Ridge, he never had a teaching assignment at the school.
The trial has been rescheduled in federal court for Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m. in Binghamton.
