Susquehanna County Interfaith, closed for four days due to furnace problems and resulting fumes in January, reopened last Monday, Jan. 25, according to director Brenda Loubet.
"The thrift store has been completely cleaned and refreshed, and since the office thankfully was not affected, we were able to stay open," she said. "We would like to extend a thank you to the community for its patience while we were closed."
According to Loubet, the Interfaith office at 17 Public Ave., Montrose,.operates a heating fuel program throughout the winter for qualifying clients, as well as emergency assistance, which includes rental evictions, utility shutoffs and miscellaneous crisis help.
"We also work with other agencies, like public assistance, Trehab, and other local agencies and churches," she said.
"We'd like to remind people that clothing and other donations should be brought into the store or placed in the bins for the store, located behind the building." said Loubet. "The red bins in the area are not for the Salvation Army or Interfaith, but belong to for-profit businesses. We are always thankful to the community for their continued support with clothing donations and monetary support."
