Ghosts, goblins, witches and princesses will hit the streets in force this Saturday night looking for tasty Halloween treats.
Halloween events, as well as trick-or-treat hours, are planned in the area on both Friday and Saturday.
Friday, Oct. 30
On Friday, Montrose Price Chopper welcomes trick-or-treaters at 6 p.m., sharp. Tasty treats will be found throughout the store.
If you’re looking for more spine-tingling chills and thrills, plan a visit to the Haunted House at Susquehanna Community Schools. There is an admission charge to the event.
As the scariest night of the year approaches, take advantage of the final night of the Montrose Ghost Walk led by New York Pennsylvania Paranormal Society members. Tours assemble at 7 p.m. on upper Cherry Street, Montrose, near the old Andre’s feed mill (in front of Broadline Construction office). There is no charge for the walking tour, but donations are accepted.
A Halloween Party will be held at 7 p.m., at the South Auburn Grange. Attnedees are asked to bring candy to pass.
Meshoppen has scheduled trick-or-treat hours from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and will hosts its annual Halloween Parade that will be held at the ballfield beginning at 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 31
Kick off Halloween on Saturday at the annual Montrose Area Kiwanis Parade. Parade 1:30 p.m. lineup is at 1:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. start time from former Andre's Agway,
Mill St., Montrose. The parade concludes at the fire hall. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments served.

The Gardner-Warner American Legion Post 154, Elk Lake Rd., will hold its annual children’s Halloween party from 1-3 p.m. with refreshments, games and prizes.
Montrose United Methodist and Presbyterian churches will provide food, candy, games and glow in the dark bracelets to kids from 4-7 p.m. on the Green in Montrose.
Montrose Trick or Treat hours, 6-8 p.m. Curfew, 9 p.m.
Susquehanna Trick or Treat hours, 6-8 p.m.
Trick or Treat in New Milford, Hallstead, Great Bend have no set hours but usually winds down by 9 p.m.
