Fire totally destroyed a Rush Twp. home late Sunday night.

The blaze, which reportedly started in the chimney, displaced nine people from the Route 267, William Magdin family residence – five adults and four children. The children range in age from two months old to 16 years.
“We have provided clothing, food and shelter,” said Becky Naylor, director of the Susquehanna County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Naylor said no one was injured in the fire.
The Rush Fire Company was assisted on the scene by Montrose United Fire Company, Meshoppen Fire Company and Montrose Minutemen.
Firefighters fought the blaze until about 3:30 a.m.
The Susquehanna County Red Cross has responded to seven house fires since July but Naylor said the Sunday night fire was a big one for the agency.
“People can make tax deductible donations to Red Cross, 6 Public Ave., Montrose, PA 18801,” Naylor added.
