The Susquehanna County Commissioners, at the August 12 meeting, signed drug and alcohol provider contracts with Trehab for $247,000 for the 2009-10 fiscal year.
In a breakdown of the expenditures, Trehab receives $150,000 for outpatient services; $80,600 for prevention services; and $16,500 for intervention services.
The commissioners removed Karen and Patricia Goskowski, of Forest City, from the economic development board. The two shared a seat on the board.
Susan E. Dean, Bridgewater Twp., was appointed by the commissioners to fill vacancy on the board.
Janet DePue, Montrose, was hired to fill the switchboard operator/clerk typist position at the county courthouse.
The commissioners also exonerated the Tax Claim bureau from collecting taxes on three parcels. Two of the parcels were trailers that had been unhooked or moved from the cited location.
The third parcel exonerated was 44.83 acres in the name of Acre Lake Improvement Association Inc.
The assessment office exonerated the taxes owed on the parcel per court order. The parcel does not belong to the Acre Lake Improvement Association Inc.
Commissioner Leon Allen was attending the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania conference and did not attend the meeting.
The commissioners were asked about the status of the Chenango St., Montrose house bid on at auction by the county.
Commissioners MaryAnn Warren and Michael Giangrieco said they do not yet know specifically what they are going to do with the house.
Although the high bidder at the June auction, the county has not yet had a closing.
When asked when the deal would be finalized, Chair Warren quipped, “When the lawyers get their act together.”
