Child rape charges lodged

share thisAn Apolacon Twp. man stands accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 for over seven years in his Bow Bridge Road home.
Michael Ray Walter, 36, Little Meadows, was charged by Tpr. Greg Deck with rape of a child; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child; aggravated indecent assault with a child; and indecent assault.
According to an affidavit, the assaults began in January 2002 when the child was five or six years old and ended in Dec. 2009.
Walter waived his Jan. 4 preliminary hearing scheduled to be held in front of District Judge Jeffrey Hollister.
A formal arraignment in the Susquehanna County Court of Common Pleas was scheduled for Jan. 19.
Walter is being held in the Susquehanna County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail, or 10 percent cash equivalent.
