Child predators sentenced

Two men sentenced in the Susquehanna County Court of Common Pleas last Thursday were classified as sexually violent predators. A third man, also sentenced in Susquehanna County on a sex-related charged, had already been classified as a sexually violent predator in Lackawanna County.
 
Terry Lee Strohl, of Montrose, was classified as a sexually violent predator. He was sentenced to six to 12 years in a state correctional facility for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse in Choconut Twp.
 
Over the course of several years, beginning in 1999, Strohl had sex with a juvenile female under the age of 13 years old.
 
He was also sentenced to six to 12 months in a state facility for fleeing prosecution on the charge in 2008.
 
Robert Edward Poole, 32, of South Montrose, was also classified as a sexually violent predator. He was sentenced to a 10-year mandatory minimum and up to 20 years in a state correctional facility for involuntary deviate sexual intercourse in Liberty Twp. in 2008.
 
On numerous occasions, Poole engaged in sexual activities with a juvenile female under the age of 13.
 
Francisco Jose Martinez, 50, Susquehanna, had already been classified as a sexually violent predator in Lackawanna County where he had been sentenced on a rape charge.
 
In Susquehanna County court, Martinez was sentenced to one to five years for corruption of minors in Jackson Twp. in November 2008. His incarceration in a state correctional facility will run concurrent to a Lackawanna County court sentence.
 
Martinez engaged in sexual conduct with a 16-year-oold female on four occasions.
 
The Susquehanna County Independent does not identify victims of sexual assault.
