An AuburnTownship home was gutted by fire early Saturday morning.
Rush Vol. Fire Chief Joe Conboy said that around 1:30 a.m., the home of Catherine Novitch off Wilcox Road was fully engulfed by fire when his unit arrived.
Conboy said the house was built into the earth with a thatch roof, and only one side exposed.
No one was injured. A fire marshal was out to the scene, but a cause has been undetermined.
Both Meshoppen and ElkLake fire companies provided an assist and United of Montrose was on standby.
